Although it flies nice it's disappointing when you realise that this is an older Carenado model, they have come a long way since they did this plane. Sounds are meh, graphics are showing some age on intruments. Realism in the cockpit is lacking somewhat. I was not sure if I would recommend or not but seeing as I enjoy flying the machine i decided to actually give it a thumbs up. Be aware though that it's not Carenados best.. radio navigation are not work. Very enjoyable, and easy to fly vintage airplane. No autopilot, but it trims out great! The radio nav works, I don't know what that other guy is talking about. This plane got me going in FSEconomy.. Very good reproduction of the Archer, an airplane I've logged many hours in. Everything works fine, lots of fun to fly.. Very nice. as long as you're American. :pFirstly, they've disabled the tooltip on the altimeter knob that shows your pressure setting in millibars (if you set that option in FSX), so if you're flying around in Europe you have to find a inches to millibars conversion table (or just have it read off altimeter settings in American).Secondly, the tailcode is a permanent part of the texture, so although you can change it in aircraft settings (and have ATC read the callsign you type in), the external view (and the view everyone will see in multiplayer) will show the tailcode that the plane came with, which, you guessed it, are all American (except one which is Australian apparently - would have been nice to include a few other nationalities!). The only way to change this is to edit the texture itself - except the graphics editing software I have can't open the texture. In short, I'm stuck with an American plane.It's very nicely done, but I wish I'd known that before I bought it because that might have affected my decision to buy this one over the Just Flight one. Just something I feel people should be aware of before they buy it.. I have over 140 hours in the Archer III, and while this is an Archer II, it still feels like a real-life Archer III without an autopilot. I only have about 10 real-world hours in an Archer II, but comparing the real Archer II versus the Carenado Archer II, I'd say they did a good job of getting the essence of the real Archer into the sim.. LOVE IT, its now my everyday aircraft it seems quite realistic!Really recomend it if you dont mind flying without autopilot!
